Perfect'ish

May 23, 2023

Perfection, the pinnacle of flawlessness. Utterly impeccable. No edits required. Nailed it.

Yet, in this recent LinkedIn post, perfection eluded me.

You see it? The glaring typo? It's on the second line, between "lazy" and "unreliable". I missed it until a friend pointed it out a few hours after I hit publish.

I could have deleted it. After all, the post was flawed. Thankfully, I didn't. As you can see, it's now garnered over 100k reactions and 9k shares.

It's natural to relentlessly chase perfection and fret over our mistakes. However, more often than not, people won't care if you've delivered something that's perfect or just perfect'ish. They're focused on the essence, not the detail.

Aiming for perfection is great. And the same goes when we come ever so close.
