Your Free Consultation Is Not Free

Adding a free consultation offer to your website is a great way to attract leads.

While this may seem like a no-brainer, the reality is that it rarely produces the flood of leads you were hoping for.

Here's the thing: a free consultation is not actually free for your prospects. It costs time, and as we all know, time is our most valuable resource.

When you ask someone to give you 30 minutes, you need to be clear about what value they’ll receive in return.

Is it your expertise in SEO? Offer a comprehensive keyword audit. Are you an accountant? Provide an overview of a prospect's financial situation. The more value you can demonstrate, the more likely someone will give up their time to meet you.

They're not comparing it to the regular price you’d charge for those services. They're weighing it against what they could be doing instead. Spending time with friends or family, going to the gym, or simply enjoying some much-needed downtime.

Don't fall into the trap of assuming that just because it's free, people will see value.

Be clear about what they'll gain from your consultation.

If you don’t, all they’ll see is their cost. Even if it’s “free”.
